You know I find maybe it's just some kind of strange phobia that I have. But I don't like to write in books and somehow it feels like I'm violating the sacredness of the book. So, I don't usually write in the margins. And instead I often you know read and then I have my computer next to me and I write notes next to me. And it's actually a pretty good way to do it because I can remember a lot. If I don't write things down I find that I forget my impressions and I forget facts and quite a lot. So, it's really nice. I have books that I read eight - ten years ago that I can still look back on my old computer and find you know what I thought about it in those days. it's nice.

Michael Klecheski – a former Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Astana city, Republic of Kazakhstan. The ex-Political Counselor at the United States Embassy in Moscow city, Russian Federation. Currently, Deputy Chief of Mission at United States Embassy in Manila city, Republic of the Philippines.

I read a tremendous amount as often as not. I read articles, magazine articles. In today's world, unfortunately, there's a real fast pace of life. So, a lot of the times I have to keep up with news, economic news political news. So, a lot of that has to be done by reading articles. But I try to read books as much as I can and I do actually read quite a lot of books. I'm not quite sure how I find the time to do it but I do it. So, it's one of the great satisfactions of my life I have to say.
