The first day of summer, holidays, ice-cream – what a good time for children! June 1 is a day when the whole world celebrates the International Children’s Day.
It was established by the Women's International Democratic Federation on its congress in November 1949 in Paris. The International Children’s Day was celebrated for the first time in 1950.
This Day is an appeal to adults to draw attention to children's issues, to protect them from physical and mental violence, from exploitation of children's work. There are also many orphan and disabled children, children from needy and large families who need support.
Childhood is an important stage in human life because character and skills of a person form in this period. Therefore it is necessary to prepare children for real life in society.
