Shumishbai Sariev was born in 1946 in Kyzyl-Orda region. Cooperated in newspapers of Kazaly and Aral areas. In 1971 graduated from Kazakh state university named after S.M. Kirov, journalist faculty. He worked in editorial office “Kazakhstan”. Now — the head of department of art of the literary and art magazine “Zhuldyz”. Poet’s first collection of verses “Медовый месяц” (“Honeymoon”) published in 1974, then collections of poetry have followed “Весна лучезарная” (“Radiant spring”, 1974), “Веет ветер морской” (“Wind sea”, 1975), “Судьба” (“Destiny”, 1976) appeared .
