Abdirash Zhamishev was born in 1928 in the Kyzyl-Orda area.
In 1950 graduated from faculty of journalism of the S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University. Abdirash Zhamishev managed the departments of such magazines and newspapers as Socialistic Kazakhstan, Kazakh adebiety, Zhuldyz . Worked as a deputy editor-in-chief of the Kazakh adebiety newspaper.
In 1961 the A.Zhamishev’s book «Dobroe nachalo» (Kind beginning) was published. His first poetic collection «Utrennee siyaniye» (Morning light) was published in 1965, the next years the poetic books were published: «Serebristyie resnitsy» (Silvery eyelashes) (1967), «Vysokiye moi zvezdy» (My high stars) (1976), «Vozvysheniye» (Eminence) (1978), and also books of sketches «Stepnye zori» (Steppe dawns) (1969) and «Zdravstvuy, solnce» Hello, the Sun (1974).
In the early 70-s A.Zhamishev published the monograph «Stikhov nemerknucsheye oko» and the collection, literary critiques «Talant i vzyskatelnost» (Talent and strictness) He was known as the translator of verses by M. Kanoatova, Riza Khalida.
A.Zhamishev's works were translated into many languages of the people of the USSR. In 1975 the collection of verses and poems «Serebrynye luchi» (Silver beams) was published in Russian.
