Zharken Bodeshuly was born on May 15, 1944. Graduated from journalism faculty Al-Farabi KAZGU (KazNU). Zharken Bodeshuly executed responsible positions in editions and the state book chamber. Today he is a literary adviser in the union of Writers of Kazakhstan. His dastans (legends) “Anykaray beketindegi oi”, «Karauyl tobe», General Zhakhar Dudaev, «Ot pen su» (the prize-winner of fund «Soros – Kazakhstan») «, Tas besik», «Bostandyktyn basy», Cher and Zhalgyz were published on different publishing houses.
Zharken Bodeshuly is the winner of the international Alash literary award, also of the II festival of poetry of the Turkic people, the owner of the Grand Prix of the international literary competition devoted to K.Satpayev's 150-year anniversary.
