Kuralay Omar was born in 1983, in the East Kazakhstan area, the Zaisan region, the Zhambyl settlement (aul). In 2000 Kuralay Omar finished the Ust-Kamenogorsk city gymnasium boarding school, and in 2004 graduated from the philological faculty of the Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University. Poems by Kuralay Omar are published on the pages of the republican printing editions.
In 2004 Kuralay Omar became the prize-winner of the Erik Askarov International Shabyt festival. In 2006 she got a Tolegen Aybergenov premium from the Zhalyn magazine. In 2007 Kuralay won the Grand Prix on the XI International Shabyt festival. In 2008 Zhalyn publishing house published the collection of poems by Kuralay Omar under the name «Ak kar» (White Snow).
