Abiltaev Shamil – dombrist, musician. He was born in Atyrau region on the 24th of February, 1948. Graduated Alma-Aty state conservatory named after Kurmangazy (a class of dombra, teachers – K. Zhantleuov and K. Mukhitov).
Since 1994 he is president of the International fund of Kurmangazy. Abiltaev started playing on dombra since he was four years-old. His first teacher was his father. Known dombrists as Kosheli, Kamesh, Sekerbay had a great influence on Abiltaev. He is a brilliant performer of kyuis (кюй) of Kurmangazy, Dina, Abyl, Mamen.
Last years he is known as a composer. He is the author of songs and kyuis, which all Kazakhstan citizens loved.
Especially popular kyuis: “Zaman-ai”, “Domalak ana”, “Shakshak Zhanibek”, and songs: “Kyui-ata”, “Ordabasy”, “Ansau”, “Orikgul”.
