Segizbay Kadirbek was born in 1941 in East Kazakhstan region, Zaysan area. After graduating Kazakh state university named after Al-Farabi, faculty – journalism (1967), worked in editorial offices of republican newspapers and magazines, and also in various publishing houses (1967-2004).
In 1972 published novels called “Zhol”, “Belaskan”, “Біз қалада тұрамыз” (“We are citizens”). More than ten stories and collections of stories were published, and also many works in Russian, German, Uzbek, Estonian, Slovenian and other languages are translated and published. He made translations of works into Kazakh language of Russians and foreign writers (novels, stories, informative literature).
In the republican closed competitions he got the first level awards for stories for children and youth (1985, 2001, 2011).
He is the member of Kazakhstan’s Union of writers, honored worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
