Amina Askarovna Shalabaeva was born in 1916 in the village Akmola of North Kazakhstan region. She graduated from faculty of language and literature at Kazakh pedagogical institute named after Abay. She worked in Republican public library, as a literary employee of the magazine “Новая жизнь” (“Novaya jizn”), and as an editor of poetic and dramatic art of the publishing house “Жазушы” (“Zhazushy”).
The poetess has created poetic collections “Моя ласточка” (“My Swallow”, 1962), “Дочь Солнца” (“The Daughter of the Sun”, 1966), “Горный поток” (“A mountain stream”, 1968), “Поющий колокольчик” (“The singing hand bell”, 1971), “Мои этюды” (“My etudes”, 1974), “Радость” (“Pleasure”, 1975). A. Shalabaeva's translations of S. Ayni (1954) stories, the chosen stories of E. Charushin (1957) are known.
