Safuan Shaimerdenov was born in 1922 in Presnov (nowadays Dzhambul) area of South Kazakhstan region. In 1950 graduated from Kazakh state university named after S.M. Kirov, philology faculty. He worked in editorial offices of magazine “Жулдыз” (“Zhuldyz”), newspaper “Казах адебиети” (“Kazakh adebieti”), as secretary of Board of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, editor-in-chief of a repertoire editorial board of the Ministry of Culture of Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. Now — at creative work. Member of CPSU.

In 1953 there was S. Shaymerdenov's novel “Дорога в грядущее” (“The road to the future”), in 1958 — the novel “Инеш” (“Inesh”). Several years later there was a story of the writer “Мезгиль” (“Mezgil”) about the thirtieth years and the book picture “Жанар и Данар” (“Zhanar and Danar”). In 1966 the story “Знакомый сосед” (“Familiar Neighbour”), in 1967 — the collection of stories and tales “Каргаш” (“Kargash”), in the next years — collections of stories and tales “Свет жизни” (“Light of Life”), “Селевой поток” (“Mud stream”) were published. The author of a number of the plays going on scenes of the Kazakh theaters, and the collection of plays published in 1976. “Повесть о Битабаре” (“The story about Bitabare”) of S. Shaymerdenov got an award of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions and the Writers' Union of the USSR for the best book on a subject about working class. He translated into Kazakh a number of novels of R. Tagore and the collection of his stories, L. Tolstoy's stories.

S. Shaymerdenov was awarded with the medal “За трудовое отличие” (“For Labour Difference”) and the Certificate of honor of the Supreme Council of Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic.
