Kazakhfilm studios is shootings the feature film Kunanbay

Kunanbay will be about life journey of the father of the great educator of the Kazakh people Abay - Kunanbay Uskenbayev. 

The film will show not only the biography of the historical character but also Kazakhstan in the XIXth century. 

The film will be shot with the National actor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the winner of the State award of the Republic of Kazakhstan, actor Doskhan Zholzhaksynov in the lead role who is also a filmmaker

Shootings of Kunanbay will take place in the homeland of Abay - in the East Kazakhstan area and will last till the beginning of September. Producers of the movie carefully study archival materials and pay much attention to details which would transfer on the screen the atmosphere of that time. 

The release of the historical movie Kunanbay is planned for spring 2015 that will coincide with the 170 anniversary of the great Kazakh poet, the writer, public figure Abay Kunanbayev.
